A New Fall River

You don't have to look far to see the Fall River we all grow up in is no longer here. We can see businesses are having a lot of trouble getting open again and some cannot have tables on the sidewalk due to not enough room for people to walk by.

The mayor said on today's noon report that he feels things are going pretty well and is looking forward to phase 3. I don't think he is alone there. We went in the community this past two weeks giving Free live stream videos to business spotlighting their re-opening. We felt that we wanted to help small businesses let people know they are still in business and are open. We did not charge them as other outlets have because we felt they are having a bad enough without us hitting them with another Bill. We still have a few more to do next week in phase 3 and look forward to helping any business in the future.

The Government Center is now open by appointment only. We had to get one for our company and found it to be workable but several departments had to call you back and didn't seem to know if they had opening and others were great. The public seems to still have any question about going to the city hall and say they are not getting a lot of help. But we know that we got an appointment pretty easily in one department but had to wait till we got a return call from another department, so there is some small level of stress in this process. But after all, we are dealing with Covid-19 at the same.

Fall River will be ok. It will feel hard times coming due to all the money it has lost. But if our mayor can cut costs without cutting jobs, He will get all the support he needs. If police, fire or Teacher are cut, he will be voted out and trust me, We saw it with other mayors. Mayor Coogan is doing the best he knows how. You have read where I disagree with him on things, but I also understand that he isn't going to make everyone happy all the time. Being a mayor is hard. I know because I have worked with mayors trying to move the city along, in the past. I'm not involved with helping this mayor only because he doesn't want it. But I will always look out for the city I love. I ask you also to say what you think but be realistic about what can be done in real hard times. If we all do that, Fall River will be ok.
